Dog Mattress

Dog mattresses at a range of prices

Twenty-four flat dog beds: orthopaedic models, soft beds, cooling mats for summer and a few dog sofas. A dog mattress goes on the floor, in a basket or on a sofa, and lets your dog stretch out fully. To choose, start with their size and how they sleep, then the season.

Orthopaedic dog mattress

An orthopaedic mattress is a thick bed, often chosen for large or older dogs who sleep stretched out:

• the grey faux fur model, non-slip, designed for winter;
• the memory foam model with built-in pillow, with a soft polyester cover;
• the version in breathable, textured Oxford fabric, which comes apart;
• the grey egg-crate version, with a non-slip base;
• the striped model, ultra soft;
• the soft neck-support mattress, with a raised edge to rest the head on.

Soft beds and cushions

For a soft everyday bed, several products go straight on the floor:

• the rectangular cushion style, with polyester filling;
• the comfy rectangular bed with sides, for dogs and cats;
• the soft patterned model, breathable;
• the All-Weather Comfort square bed, with raised sides and removable cover;
• the rectangular Oxford fabric bed, for summer and winter;
• the soft faux fur mat, lightweight, for indoors.

Cooling dog mattress for summer

When it’s hot, a bed in cool fabric replaces the thick cushion. The Ice Silk cooling mat goes on the floor, a sofa, in a basket or in the car. The range also includes the egg-crate latex cooling bed, the rectangular cooling bed, the oval cooling model, the cooling mat with pillow and two summer baskets. For the full range, see our cooling mats for dogs.

Dog sofas and covers

For a dog who sleeps on the living room sofa, the waterproof padded non-slip sofa mat protects the fabric. For a big dog who loves to stretch out, the soft futon dog sofa is thick and non-slip; the 25D orthopaedic dog sofa comes in arctic velvet. The retro foldable blanket, with a handle, travels with your dog on trips and picnics.

Which mattress for your dog?

• Large dog: sizes XL to 3XL, or the futon sofa.
• Older dog: a thick orthopaedic model.
• Summer: a cooling mat or bed.
• Washable dog mattress: check the cover on the product page; many have removable covers.
• Outings: the foldable blanket, with a handle.

For the size, measure your dog lying on their side, from the nose to the base of the tail, and add about twenty centimetres. Then check the dimensions on the product page, given in centimetres for most models.

Caring for a dog mattress

Vacuum the mattress every week to remove hair, and wash the cover following the care instructions on the product page if it is removable. Let it dry completely before giving the bed back to your dog. A good-quality mattress can be turned over now and then to keep its shape.

FAQ

Dog mattress or dog bed?

A dog bed has sides for your dog to rest their head on; a mattress is flat and suits dogs who sleep stretched out. Several products in this range, like the All-Weather Comfort square bed, do both: a thick mattress surrounded by sides.

How can you tell if a dog mattress is washable?

Check the product page: it says whether the cover is removable or the whole bed is washable. The All-Weather Comfort square bed and the oval cooling mattress, for example, have a washable cover.
