Cat coats at a range of prices

A cat coat keeps a cat warm when they have little fur, go out on a lead or don't like draughts. This selection brings together lined coats, jackets, a jumpsuit and knitted cardigans, from XS to XXL depending on the model. To choose well, start with your cat's coat and the use: outdoors in cold weather, or simply at home.

For a hairless cat

A Sphynx or Devon Rex has almost nothing between their skin and the air. Two models are designed for this kind of cat:

  • the lined leopard coat, in faux fur, with a soft inner lining that its product page describes as insulating and suitable for sensitive skin;
  • the thick zip-up jacket, in fleece under a black zip-up outer, in two colours, which gives the cat plenty of freedom of movement according to its product page.

Lined jackets and coats

For a cat that feels the cold and goes out, these models rely on a lining:

The grey reflective jumpsuit, in polyester, covers more of the cat's body, from S to XXL.

Knitwear for home

For a cat that feels a little chilly indoors, a light garment is often enough:

  • the pink heart cardigan, buttoned, from XS to M;
  • the knitted jumper with flower buttons and a turn-down collar, in pink or blue, from XS to M, which can be worn all year round.

These two patterned models, from XS to M, suit a kitten or a small cat trying clothes for the first time.

Which cat coat should you choose?

  • Hairless or short-haired cat: the leopard coat or the zip-up jacket.
  • Walks on a lead: a lined coat, or the jumpsuit for the most coverage.
  • Evening walks: the reflective model or the neon green one.
  • Chilly cat at home: a cardigan or a knitted jumper.
  • Feeling stylish: denim, faux leather or sequins.

For size, measure the length of the back, from the neck to the base of the tail, and the chest just behind the front legs, then compare with the size chart on the product page. A well-fitting garment doesn't squeeze: your cat should be able to walk, jump and lie down. Let them try it on for a few minutes at home, with a treat, before the first outing. Some cats accept it right away, others need several tries: if so, don't insist and try again the next day.

Good to know

Does a cat need to be covered up?

Many cats with a full coat manage fine without. A coat is mainly for hairless or short-haired cats, older cats who feel the cold, and cats who go out on a lead in cold weather.

How do you warm up a cold cat?

Give them a spot away from draughts, a cosy bed and a room at a comfortable temperature. A warm garment helps a hairless cat. If they stay cold or listless, ask an animal health professional for advice.

Where can I find a puffer jacket for a cat?

Right here: the quilted or lined models do the job, like the dinosaur coat or the zip-up jacket.
