Dog car seats at a range of prices

Sixteen pieces of kit for taking your dog in the car: a cosy car seat, a rigid seat extender, back seat covers and boot liners. To choose, start from your dog's size and where he travels, then think about the seat belt.

Dog car seat

The cosy faux fur car seat is a padded nest with a built-in strap, in beige or blue. It comes in S (60 x 60 cm), M (72 x 60 cm) and L (110 x 60 cm): the listing gives dimensions, not a maximum weight, so measure your dog lying down before choosing.

The rigid car seat extender is waterproof and stable according to its listing, and suits all vehicles. It comes in a Standard or Premium version, with a rigid base, bags and netting.

Protecting the back seat

A cover protects the back seat from hair, mud and claws. Our range includes about ten, most of them waterproof:

  • the premium model, resistant to claws;
  • the versions with a thick edge or padded sides;
  • the version with a mesh window, pockets and adjustable clips;
  • the version with side flaps, for SUVs, saloons or 4x4s;
  • the tough protective cover, in black, orange or orange and black.

Seat mats and boot liners

For a dog who travels in the boot of an estate or SUV, the black paw print boot liner is washable; the universal model has raised side edges. On the back seat, the car seat mat with extension, the claw-resistant mat and the reinforced mat, rated by its listing up to 180 kg, complete the choice.

Which equipment should you choose?

  • Small dog on the back seat: the cosy car seat, in S or M.
  • Medium or large dog: a seat cover or the rigid extender, with the seat belt attached to his harness.
  • Dog in the boot: a boot liner.
  • SUV or 4x4: the seat cover with side flaps.
  • Storage on board: the seat cover with mesh window and pockets.

Securing your dog in the car

A car seat or seat cover does not hold your dog in place: secure him to the seat belt with a harness, never by his collar. A seat belt adapter clips into the car's buckle and attaches to the harness. The cosy car seat has a built-in strap: check its listing to see how to connect it. Put your dog in the back, where he is less of a distraction to the driver, and take regular breaks on long journeys. Never leave him shut in a car parked in the sun.

Good to know

Where should you fit a dog car seat?

On the back seat, attached to the seat belt, for his safety as well as yours. In the front, a dog distracts the driver and sits facing the airbag.

Which car seat for a 10 to 30 kg dog?

The listings in this range give dimensions, not a weight. For a small dog, the cosy car seat in S or M; beyond that, a seat cover or the rigid extender, which let the dog lie down on the back seat.
