Cat boots at a range of prices

This selection brings together slippers, socks, boots and little shoes for cats, most of which also come for small dogs. To choose, start from the use: protecting against scratches during care, keeping paws warm outdoors in winter, or dressing up your cat for a photo.

Anti-scratch cat boots: for grooming and bath time

  • The silicone boots, in pink or green: made of soft silicone, they protect against scratches at bath time, during care or travel, and their shape is designed so your cat can't pull them off.
  • The nylon mesh anti-scratch gloves, in black or grey, from M to XL, light and breathable according to their product page.

Indoor socks and slippers

The soft cotton socks (sold in packs of 4), from S to L, are presented for indoor use, to stop slipping on smooth floors. They're the closest thing to a cat slipper and also suit a cat that slides on tiles. See also our Cat socks.

Winter and rain boots

For a cat that goes out in cold or wet weather:

Light shoes and shoes for photos

  • The PU bunny trainers, in green, yellow or pink, from XS to XL.
  • Cotton canvas shoes, in pink or blue, for walks in town.
  • Clogs with holes in a pack of 2, in seven colours, breathable according to their product page.
  • The ABS clogs, miniature sandals made mainly for photos.
  • Breathable mesh shoes in a pack of 4, presented as protecting the pads in warm weather and at home.

Which size and which boot should you choose?

Measure the width of your cat's front paw while it's on the floor, and compare it with the sizes on each product page: sizes range from XXS to XXL depending on the model. A boot that's too big twists around the paw; too small, and it pinches. For a first try, a cat can start with a soft model, like the socks or the silicone boots.

Why put boots on a cat?

To protect whoever is caring for them from their claws during a bath or treatment, to keep their paws warm outdoors in winter, or simply for a photo. It's not an accessory to wear all the time: cat boots are worn for short periods, under your supervision.

Do cats like having their paw pads touched?

Some cats don't like it at first. Get yours used to it gently: touch their paws for a few seconds, reward them, then put a boot on for just a few minutes. Try it at a calm moment, with a toy to distract your cat while trying them on.

Choosing the right material

The choice depends on how your cat will use them. For an indoor cat, cotton socks are the softest. For going out in the cold, fleece or velvet-lined boots keep in the warmth; in the rain, choose the waterproof boots. Soft silicone is for bath time and care. Canvas, PU and ABS are mainly for walking or photo shoes. Every cat is different: start with the softest model.

Caring for cat boots

Wash fabric socks and boots by hand or according to the label, then let them air-dry. Rinse silicone boots in clean water. Also check the soles and fastenings before each use: a damaged boot should be replaced, for your cat's comfort.

A gift idea for a cat

A pack of colourful socks or festive boots makes a fun gift for a cat owner, even if your cat only wears them for a family photo.
