Description
Cat boots in PU (faux leather) and breathable mesh. Paw pads are sensors: covering them changes how the floor feels, so boots are for specific uses only — a dressing, a slippery wooden floor, protecting the sofa.

Cat booties: protecting the paw pads or the floor

A cat doesn't easily accept something on its paws: its pads are sensors, and covering them changes how it feels the floor. So booties have specific uses — protecting a dressing, stopping scratches on the sofa, steadying a cat that slips on a wooden floor.

They also help after a nail trim that went too short or a wound on a pad, while it heals. Keeping them on is the whole challenge, and that's what we look at in our cat boots.

Détail de la matière : PU (similicuir) et maille respirante

Sole, elastic and fit: what stays on a cat's paw

These are made of PU (faux leather) and breathable mesh. High-top trainer with a bunny-head design, sizes XS to XL (paw sizes vary) — measure the paw at rest, width and height up to the hock. Elastic that's too tight cuts off circulation within hours; too loose and the boot comes off at the first step. A non-slip sole is what really matters on a slippery wooden floor. Our breathable anti-scratch paw covers for cats and dogs – paw protectors work better.

  • Measure the paw at rest — this model: sizes XS to XL (paw sizes vary)
  • Check circulation after an hour: a cold toe means the elastic is too tight
  • Start with a few minutes: a cat bootie forced on from the start is never accepted
  • Keep them for a specific use, not for wearing all the time
  • Wash them between uses: hand clean with a damp cloth
  • Choose a non-slip sole if the floor is slippery

Getting a cat used to wearing something on its paws

Go one paw at a time, for a few minutes, with a treat straight afterwards. A cat that walks shaking its paws or stays frozen isn't being difficult: it no longer knows where it's stepping. Take them off, try again later, never insist.

Never leave them on overnight or while you're out, and check the colour of the toes after the first hour. For simple indoor protection, socks without a sole are often better tolerated.

One use where they really prove themselves: the older cat that slips on wooden floors or tiles. Losing confidence when moving around is a real cause of inactivity in senior cats, and a non-slip sole often gives back access to places they had stopped going.

FAQ

What if I have several cats?

Plan one per cat for anything to do with resting, eating and toileting. Forced sharing is the number one cause of tension in a multi-cat home.

Which size should I choose?

This model comes in XS, S, M, L and XL. Measure the space you have in mind and, for a bed, your pet's length lying stretched out plus about ten centimetres. Too snug and it won't get used; too big and it loses its reassuring feel.

How do I care for it?

Warm soapy water, with no scented products: a cat's sense of smell is far keener than ours, and a whiff of detergent is enough to make it avoid something it was using the day before.

What is it made of?

PU (faux leather) and breathable mesh. This composition determines the care: check the specifications for the right washing method.
