Cat water fountains at a range of prices

Non-electric water dispensers

Their product pages describe them as non-electric: nothing to plug in, just a tank to fill.

They plug in via USB, except the smart one, which is rechargeable:

Stainless steel fountains

For anyone who prefers stainless steel to plastic:

• the 3.2 L stainless steel fountain with carbon filter and level window, so you can see when to top it up.

For a large dog or a home with several pets, the 6.5 L stainless steel anti-splash bowl and the large-capacity 7 L stainless steel fountain have the largest capacity in the range.

Which cat water fountain should you choose?

• No socket near the bowl: a non-electric dispenser, or the rechargeable smart fountain.
• A cat that loves running water: a USB fountain, with a jet or continuous flow.
• Water and food in one place: a water and food set, or the double bowl.
• Several cats, or a dog too: a fountain of 3 L or more, in stainless steel.

FAQ

How do you clean a cat water fountain?

Follow each fountain's instructions. On fountains with a filter, the filter needs replacing: several are sold in packs with 4 or 8 filters, and the 3.2 L stainless steel model has a window to check the water level.

Plastic, ceramic or stainless steel?

On the non-electric side, the 2-in-1 dispenser is made of ABS and the 2-in-1 food and water dispenser of food-grade PP; stainless steel is used for the fountains from 2.2 L to 7 L; ceramic only appears here as bowls on the 2-in-1 food and water dispenser.

What are the downsides of a cat water fountain?

It needs a USB socket, except for the rechargeable fountain, and replacement filters for the models that use them. If you don't want to plug anything in, a non-electric dispenser will do.
