Description
Cat boots in soft non-woven silicone. Paw pads are sensors: covering them changes how the floor feels, so boots are for specific uses only — a dressing, a slippery wooden floor, protecting the sofa.

Cat booties: protecting the paw pads or the floor

A cat doesn't easily accept something on its paws: its pads are sensors, and covering them changes how it feels the floor. So booties have specific uses — protecting a dressing, stopping scratches on the sofa, steadying a cat that slips on a wooden floor.

They also help after a nail trim that went too short or a wound on a pad, while it heals. Keeping them on is the whole challenge, and that's what we look at in our cat boots.

Sole, elastic and fit: what stays on a cat's paw

These are made of soft non-woven silicone. Narrow ankle boots with an adjustable elastic strap, height 7 cm × Width 4 cm × Opening 2.5 cm — measure the paw at rest, width and height up to the hock. Elastic that's too tight cuts off circulation within hours; too loose and the boot comes off at the first step. A non-slip sole is what really matters on a slippery wooden floor. Our breathable non-slip dog shoes – set of 4 work better.

  • Measure the paw at rest — this model: height 7 cm × Width 4 cm × Opening 2.5 cm
  • Check circulation after an hour: a cold toe means the elastic is too tight
  • Start with a few minutes: a cat bootie forced on from the start is never accepted
  • Keep them for a specific use, not for wearing all the time
  • Wash them between uses: easy to clean by hand
  • Choose a non-slip sole if the floor is slippery

Getting a cat used to wearing something on its paws

Go one paw at a time, for a few minutes, with a treat straight afterwards. A cat that walks shaking its paws or stays frozen isn't being difficult: it no longer knows where it's stepping. Take them off, try again later, never insist.

Never leave them on overnight or while you're out, and check the colour of the toes after the first hour. For simple indoor protection, socks without a sole are often better tolerated.

One use where they really prove themselves: the older cat that slips on wooden floors or tiles. Losing confidence when moving around is a real cause of inactivity in senior cats, and a non-slip sole often gives back access to places they had stopped going.

FAQ

Is it suitable for an indoor cat?

That's actually its main use: an indoor cat spends most of the day alone, and boredom soon turns into scratched furniture or night-time wake-ups.

What are the exact dimensions?

Height 7 cm × Width 4 cm × Opening 2.5 cm. Check this measurement against your pet's build: with this kind of accessory, any mismatch shows straight away in use.

What if I have several cats?

Plan one per cat for anything to do with resting, eating and toileting. Forced sharing is the number one cause of tension in a multi-cat home.

What is it made of?

Soft silicone with non-woven fabric. This composition determines the care: check the specifications for the right washing method.
