Dog raincoats at a range of prices

A dog raincoat keeps the back and belly dry on rainy walks, so you don't come home with a soaked dog. Here you'll find capes, all-in-one suits that also cover the legs and clear models, from XS to 6XL depending on the style. To choose, start with your dog's size, then the weather on your walks.

For a small dog

A small dog's belly is close to the ground, so it gets wet quickly:

For a medium or large dog

The bigger the dog, the more the cut matters: a cape that covers the back well, a hood and a strap under the belly.

  • the adjustable polyester model that keeps out wind and rain, from XS to 4XL;
  • the lightweight nylon model, breathable according to its listing, with a hood, in four colours;
  • the cape with reflective strip, in PU, from S (1 to 2 kg) to 5XL (32 to 50 kg);
  • the high-collar model, with adjustable straps, in green or black;
  • the model with a lead opening, in blue or pink, which lets the lead pass through to the harness;
  • the lightweight hooded PU cape, in six sizes;
  • the clear hooded model, in TPU, in 5XL and 6XL, for a big dog;
  • the reversible model, in PU, in green, yellow or red, from XS to 5XL.

Staying visible in the rain

In grey weather, at dusk or at night, your dog is hard to see. The hooded reflective model, in nine sizes from S to 6XL, the cape, the adjustable model, the nylon model and the reflective suit all have reflective strips according to their listings.

How do you choose a raincoat for your dog?

  • Small dog that gets its belly wet – an all-in-one suit, which covers the legs too.
  • Large or big dog – the PU cape, the clear model or the reversible model.
  • Evening walks – a model with reflective strips.
  • Dog that walks in a harness – the model with a lead opening.
  • Summer showers – the lightweight short-sleeved model.

For sizing, measure the length of the back, from the neck to the base of the tail, and the chest girth, then compare with the size chart on the listing. Some models also give a weight per size. The coat should cover the back without getting in the way of walking or toileting.

Good to know

Does a raincoat keep a dog warm?

That's not its job: it's made to keep the rain off, and none of these listings mention a lining. For a short-haired dog or one that feels the cold in chilly weather, see our lined dog coats.

How do you get a dog used to wearing a raincoat?

Let it try the coat on at home for a few minutes, give a reward, then head out for a short walk. After the rain, let the coat air-dry before putting it away.
