Cat flea combs at a range of prices

This selection brings together twenty-four grooming products: flea combs, grooming combs, brushes, gloves and steam brushes. For finding fleas, the flea comb does the job, on cats and dogs alike; the rest is for everyday coat care.

Flea combs

  • The set of 6 flea combs, for cats and dogs, has stainless steel teeth; its product page says it removes fleas, dirt and dead hair from all coat types.
  • The self-cleaning comb, in blue or pink, has rounded teeth; its product page recommends it for tangles and fleas.
  • The comb for eyes and sensitive areas, a compact one, is used around the eyes for tear stains, fleas and dirt.

Grooming combs

The wooden comb comes in three tooth styles, for gentle detangling. The large metal comb is designed for long-haired dogs.

Everything else for coat care

Detangling brushes, a rake, KingKomb, silicone massage gloves for bath time, steam mist brushes, gloves for your clothes and the sofa, and a 6-in-1 kit with towel: everything you need to round off combing.

Which flea comb should you choose?

  • To check the whole coat: the set of 6, with stainless steel teeth.
  • For a comb that's easy to empty: the self-cleaning model.
  • Around the eyes and delicate areas: the compact comb.
  • For a long-haired cat: detangle first, then use the flea comb.

Using a flea comb

Settle your cat somewhere calm, on a white or light-coloured towel. Comb slowly in the direction of the fur, from head to tail, paying special attention to the nape, neck and base of the tail. After each stroke, dip the comb in a bowl of soapy water to release what it has caught.

FAQ

How do you get rid of fleas on a cat without products?

A flea comb removes the fleas it catches between its teeth, without any product. It isn't an anti-parasite treatment and doesn't replace one: ask your vet for advice on choosing one.

What's the best flea treatment for cats?

That's a question for your vet, who knows your cat's age and weight. The flea comb is for checking the coat between visits.
