Cat tree

Cat trees at a range of prices

A cat tree gives your cat somewhere to climb, scratch and sleep up high, all on one piece of furniture. The range includes wall-mounted wooden models, towers with a hideaway and bed, rattan pieces and large models that adjust right up to the ceiling. To choose, start with the space you have, the number of cats, then the style of your home.

Wall-mounted, to keep the floor clear

Fixed to a wall, the tree creates a vertical circuit that takes up no floor space at all:

• the cat tree with sisal posts, in natural wood;
• the 4-tier pine cat tree, with rope and sisal posts, 35 x 125 cm;
• a multi-level pine version, whose product page mentions non-slip platforms.

Towers with a hideaway and bed

For a cat that loves climbing high and hiding away, a tower stacks several levels, a hiding spot and often a hanging bed:

• the 209 cm cat tree, in chipboard and plush, in beige, light grey or dark grey;
• the compact tower, which its product page recommends for small homes, in four colours;
• the model with tunnel, hut and sisal scratching posts, in beige, grey or black;
• the tree with a bed and sisal ball, at the top or bottom;
• the tower with closed cat house, raised bowls and sisal scratcher, in rustic wood.

Designer cat trees: cactus, mushroom, flower, rattan

Some cat trees are chosen as much for the living room as for the cat. The 4-in-1 mushroom cat tree combines a cat house and natural sisal posts. The cactus versions play on green, the flower is in solid white wood, and two beige rattan cat trees complete the choice, one with a round hideaway and a basket at the top.

Large models, right up to the ceiling

For several cats or a large living room, the adjustable cactus cat tree adjusts from 205 to 255 cm, with 5 platforms and hanging balls. The adjustable solid wood range rises from 250 to 270 cm depending on the model, with a dome and sisal scratchers. If your cats also share a litter tray, the all-in-one tree has a space for the tray and perches.

Which cat tree should you choose?

• Small flat: a wall-mounted model or a small compact cat tree, which goes up without taking floor space.
• Several cats: a tower with several hiding spots, or a large model up to the ceiling.
• Cat that scratches everything: a model with several posts and an easy-to-reach sisal scratcher, or even an extra scratcher in another corner.
• Living room: a designer, rattan, solid wood or cactus cat tree that doubles as a decorative piece.
• Wooden cat tree: the pine versions, the mushroom, the flower and the adjustable range.

Before buying, measure the distance to the ceiling for an adjustable model and the width of the wall for a wall-mounted one. Place it against a wall, with a view outside if you can: cats love keeping an eye on the living room from the top level.

Looking after a cat tree

Vacuum the levels and plush to remove hair. Check the fixings and post rope regularly: a badly worn scratcher is easy to spot, and a loose screw can be tightened before it makes the whole thing wobble.

FAQ

Where can I find a cheap cat tree?

The most affordable in the range are the small models and the cat tree with bed and sisal ball. The large solid wood models cost more, but they serve several cats. Compare the other products on the page by material and size too.

Which cat tree for a large cat?

For a large cat, go for wide platforms and a stable base: a tower with several hiding spots, the all-in-one tree that its product page designs for big cats, or a model fixed to the wall or ceiling.
