It doesn't tip at the first jump — wide, weighted base: a support that wobbles stops being used

They gain some height — a lookout post, which counts double in a multi-pet home

They let off steam without climbing the curtains — a support of their own absorbs the energy that went into the furniture

Description
Cat tree made of solid wood, sisal rope and clear acrylic. It gives an indoor cat the height it lacks: a lookout post and somewhere to scratch at full stretch. It's the stability of the base, not the height, that decides whether your cat takes to it.

Cat tree for indoor cats short on height

A cat keeps watch from up high: on the floor, it stays on its guard, and you can see it in the way it sleeps with one eye open. In a flat, height is almost always lacking, and that lack is what causes the night-time zoomies and the leaps onto furniture.

A cat tree gives back what indoor life takes away: a lookout post, a place of its own, and something to scratch standing up at full stretch. Stability matters more than looks, and that's how we choose our cat trees.

Stability, platforms and posts: what decides how it's used

This one is made of solid wood, sisal rope and clear acrylic. Several models available. 5 platforms, fabric hammock and acrylic dome, Ø 11.5 cm scratching post, adjustable height 250–270 cm — height matters, but the base matters more: a tree that wobbles on the first jump stops being used, and no cat goes back to it. Look at the posts too: sisal grips the claws, carpet frays without satisfying them. If your cat scratches more than it climbs, a multi-level cat tree 209 cm with hammock and hideaways is enough and takes up less space.

  • Check the width of the base before the height: a cat tree that tips over is never used again
  • Place it near a window — watching the outside world is half the appeal
  • Allow one top platform per cat if you have several — they don't share the summit
  • Choose sisal posts — this model is made of solid wood, sisal rope and clear acrylic
  • Measure your ceiling height before ordering — this one measures adjustable height 250–270 cm
  • Easy to look after: dust the wood, clean the acrylic with a microfibre cloth, hand-wash the hammock

Where to put it in a flat

Location matters as much as the model. Near a window, on a route it already uses, never in a closed room nobody goes into: an isolated cat tree stays empty even if it's perfect. The corner of the living room with a view of the street is almost always the right spot.

Don't put it right against a radiator or above a heat source — the cat will avoid it in summer. And if the main goal is to save the sofa, a cat scratcher placed in front of the targeted furniture will work better than a tree at the other end of the room.

Something people tend to underestimate: a cat climbs up happily, but comes down badly. Check there's a step-by-step way down, with no jump of more than fifty centimetres. Very tall trees with plenty of tiers at the bottom are the ones an older cat keeps using.

FAQ

How do I care for it?

Warm soapy water, with no scented products: a cat's sense of smell is far keener than ours, and a whiff of detergent is enough to make it avoid something it was using the day before.

What are the exact dimensions?

Adjustable height 250–270 cm. This is the measurement to check against your pet's build: with this kind of accessory, any mismatch shows straight away in use.

Will my cat accept it?

Cats accept what they discover on their own. Put the accessory in a room they use, without showing it to them, and give it two or three days before drawing any conclusions.

What is it made of?

Solid wood, rope. It's this material mix that sets the care routine: check the specifications for the right way to wash it.
