Description

Polyester sofa scratch protector for cats. A cat scratches a spot along its route with the texture and height it likes: a protector should always come with a scratcher placed right next to it.

Protection adhésive anti-griffes pour canapé — protège-canapé chat

Sofa protector for cats that scratch the armrest

A cat scratching a sofa isn't being naughty: it's marking its territory in a spot it passes often, and the armrest has exactly the texture and height it's after. Telling it off changes nothing – it will just learn to do it when you're not looking.

The solution always comes down to two moves made at the same time: make the sofa uninteresting AND offer something better right next to it. Protection only does half the job, and that's worth keeping in mind as you browse our sofa protectors.

Adhesive film, sisal panel or cover: what works

This one is made of polyester. Sheet or roll, cut to size, 30 x 300 cm — measure the armrest before ordering, as the format decides how well it works. A clear adhesive film is barely visible but only lasts a season; a sisal panel gets scratched and becomes an approved zone. Always put a self-adhesive anti-scratch sofa protector – 60 x 100 cm right next to it.

Measure the armrest before ordering — this model is 30 x 300 cm
Place a scratcher RIGHT next to it – protecting without offering something better never solves anything
Clean the area before applying – the adhesive won't stick to dusty fabric
Never tell the cat off – it would only learn to scratch when you're not looking
Leave the cat sofa protector in place for several months – habits take time to shift
Check it suits your fabric — some adhesives mark leather

Protect and redirect: the two moves that go together

Allow several weeks for the habit to shift, and don't take the protection off at the first success: that's exactly when the cat comes back. Leave it in place for a good season.

If the scratching suddenly gets worse for no reason, look at stress – a house move, a new pet, building work – rather than the sofa. And put a cat scratcher in plain sight on the exact spot it had chosen, not tucked away in a corner.

A test that saves your sofa: first stick a small piece of adhesive somewhere hidden, leave it for twenty-four hours, then peel it off. On some fabrics and on leather, the glue lifts the finish – and you only see it when it comes off, never when it goes on.

FAQ

How long does it last?

Several months on a low-use area, a few weeks on your cat's favourite corner. The strip can be replaced without leaving a mark, as long as you don't let it partly peel off.

What are the exact dimensions?

30 x 300 cm. Compare this measurement with your pet's size: with this kind of accessory, any mismatch shows straight away in use.

Will it damage the sofa fabric?

The adhesive is designed to come off without pulling the fibres, on sound, dry fabric. Always test on a hidden area before applying the whole strip: fabric already weakened by age reacts differently.

Does the colour make any difference?

No: Light grey, Dark grey, Khaki, Brown, Black and Blue share the same dimensions and finish. The choice is purely aesthetic.
