Description
Cat cave bed in soft fabric and polyester cotton. A cat that sleeps curled up looks for something to rest its back against: the height of the rim, and a filling that doesn't flatten, decide how much it really gets used.

Cat bed for cats who curl up and love a rim

A cat who sleeps curled up wants something to brace his back against. That's why he picks boxes, laundry baskets and sofa corners over a flat mat: it's not the softness that draws him, it's the rim. A bolster cat bed recreates exactly that.

The second criterion is size, and the usual mistake is going too big: a cat wants a snug space, not a swimming pool. These two points are how we sort our cat beds.

Rim, filling and washing: what makes a good cat bed

This one is made of soft fabric and polyester cotton. Nest, 2 sizes available — compare it with your cat curled up, not stretched out: it should fit curled with its back against the rim. A filling that flattens within three weeks defeats the whole point — that's where lifespan is decided. For a cat that sprawls rather than curls up: round plush frog bed for small dogs or cats in a flat style will suit him better.

  • Measure your cat curled up, not stretched out: this cave bed comes in 2 sizes
  • Check the rim height – it's what a cat looks for before softness
  • Wash it regularly: hand wash recommended, air dry
  • Place it up high or against a wall, never in a walkway
  • Choose dense filling – a cat bed that's flat within three weeks stops being used
  • Pop in a piece of clothing that smells of you for the first few days

Where to put it so he actually sleeps in it

A cat chooses where to sleep based on warmth, view and quiet. Against a wall, up high, near a gentle heat source and away from foot traffic: that combination works almost every time. Put the same bed in the middle of the living room and it will stay empty.

If he keeps sleeping elsewhere, move the bed to the spot he's chosen rather than carrying him to it. And for a cat who sleeps stretched out on his side, a cushion in a flat style will suit him better than one with raised sides.

One detail that often makes the difference: don't wash the bed too soon. It takes two to three weeks to pick up his scent, and that scent is what makes it his place. After that, a monthly wash won't bother anyone.

FAQ

Will my cat accept it?

Cats accept what they discover on their own. Put the accessory in a room they use, without showing it to them, and give it two or three days before drawing any conclusions.

Which size should I choose?

This model comes in L (65 x 40 x 20 cm) and M (48 x 30 x 20 cm). Measure the space you have in mind and, for a bed, your pet's length lying down plus about ten centimetres. Too snug and it won't get used; too big and it loses its reassuring feel.

Is it suitable for an indoor cat?

That's actually its main use: an indoor cat spends most of the day alone, and boredom soon turns into scratched furniture or night-time wake-ups.

What is it made of?

Soft textile and poly-cotton. This composition determines the care it needs: see the specifications for the right washing method.
