Where to put it so he takes to it

Against a wall, up high if possible, with a view of the room and away from foot traffic: that's the combination that works. A bed in the middle of the living room won't get used, however perfect it is.

How do I clean it?

A damp cloth and mild soap are all it takes. It can't go in the washing machine or tumble dryer: the gel pouch won't survive the spin.

Which size should I choose?

This model comes in M (55x40cm), L (65x45cm), XL (80x55cm) and 2XL (100x70cm). Measure the space you have in mind and, for a bed, your pet's length lying down plus about ten centimetres. Too snug and it won't get used; too big and it loses its reassuring feel.

Does it need to go in the freezer?

No. The gel inside is activated by pressure and body temperature: you lay it flat, your pet lies on it, and the surface drops a few degrees all by itself. Putting it in the freezer would harden the gel and make it uncomfortable.
