Rectangular, with U-shaped support cushion, 2 sizes available — measure your cat stretched out and add room for the armrests, which take up a good share of the stated size. A seat that's too soft sags, and your cat ends up sleeping elsewhere. Check that the cover comes off. For a cat who sleeps curled up in a ball, a polka dot bed for small dogs or cats with high sides will be better.

Where to put it so he takes to it

Against a wall, up high if possible, with a view of the room and away from foot traffic: that's the combination that works. A bed in the middle of the living room won't get used, however perfect it is.

If he still prefers your sofa, put his right next to it rather than at the other end of the room — you shift a habit by a few centimetres, not several metres. And for a cat who sleeps tightly curled up, a kitten cave bed will suit better.

Which size should I choose?

Measure your pet lying stretched out, from nose to the base of the tail, and add about ten centimetres. A bed that's too snug won't get used; too big and it loses its reassuring feel.

Does the colour make any difference?

No: Coffee, Black, Red, Light grey and Dark grey share the same dimensions and the same finish. The choice is purely aesthetic.

Is it machine washable?

Models with a removable cover, yes, at 30 °C. For the others, hand washing and drying flat stop the filling clumping.

Will my pet take to it?

Put it where they already choose to sleep, and lay a cloth with their scent on it for the first few days. A bed set up in a room they don't use stays empty.
