Description
Indoor dog crate in reinforced polyethylene (PE) and steel. Introduced properly, it becomes the den your dog heads to on their own. Size is the technical point: standing without lowering the head, with a divider while they're still a puppy.

Indoor dog crate: a safe haven, never a punishment

Introduced properly, a crate becomes the place your dog retreats to on its own: enclosed on three sides, it answers the den instinct. It also keeps a puppy safe at night, during recovery and on journeys.

Introduced badly, it becomes a punishment and your dog fights it. The whole difference lies in the training, never the model. That said, size matters, and it's the key criterion for our indoor dog crates.

Size, folding and sturdiness: what to check

This one is made of reinforced polyethylene (PE) and steel. Hard box with metal door and handles, 67 × 51 × 58.5 cm or 80 × 57 × 70 cm — your dog must be able to stand without lowering their head, turn around and lie down. Too big for a puppy, and it leaves room to toilet in a corner, which wrecks house training. A divider solves that. To block off a room without shutting your dog in, go for something like metal Dog Crate with Two Doors & Removable Divider is enough.

  • Choose it for adult size, with a divider for the puppy stage
  • Check your dog can stand without lowering their head — this model: 67 × 51 × 58.5 cm or 80 × 57 × 70 cm
  • NEVER send your dog in as a punishment, or it will stop going in on its own
  • Leave the door open all the time for the first few days
  • Put its bed and a chew toy inside, never anything it could get caught on
  • Clean the base tray: smooth, easy-clean surface

Crate training a puppy, step by step

Training happens with the door open: treats tossed inside, meals served in there, then a few minutes with the door shut while you stay in sight. Build up very gradually, and never open it while your dog is crying.

It doesn't replace company: a dog shut in for eight hours develops anxiety, not security. To limit access without shutting your dog in, a dog gate is often the best answer.

One mistake that undoes all the training: opening the door the moment your dog cries. It learns in one go that crying opens the door. Wait for three seconds of quiet, even very short ones, and open then — that's what makes the difference between a crate your dog accepts and one it just puts up with.

FAQ

Is it allowed on planes or trains?

Every carrier sets its own size limits: check the dimensions listed in the specifications against your airline or rail company's rules before buying. No bag is accepted everywhere.

Which size should I choose?

This model comes in (67x51x58.5cm) and (80x57x70cm). Measure the space you have in mind and, for a bed, your pet's length lying stretched out plus about ten centimetres. Too snug and it won't get used; too big and it loses its reassuring feel.

How do I get my pet used to it?

Leave the bag open in the room for several days before you travel, with a familiar blanket inside. A pet that first meets its bag on the day of the journey will find it stressful.

What is it made of?

Reinforced polyethylene (PE) and steel. The material dictates the care, so check the specifications for the right way to wash it.
