Description
Cat sofa in polyester + polyester fibre filling. It copies what draws a cat to yours: height, the smell of home and a view over the whole room. The armrests double as headrests, which goes a long way to explaining why cats take to it.

Cat sofa: a bed of his own instead of yours

If your cat always sleeps on the sofa, it's not just for comfort: it's up high, it smells of home, and he can see the whole room. A cat sofa offers those three things in a size that's all his.

The armrests matter more than you'd think: plenty of cats sleep with their head resting on them, just like on yours. It's what we look at in our cat sofas.

Seat, armrests and cover: what holds up in daily use

This one is made of polyester + polyester fibre filling. Two-seater sofa with padded armrests, one size (66x37x33cm) — measure your cat stretched out and add room for the armrests, which take up a good share of the stated size. A seat that's too soft sags, and your cat ends up sleeping elsewhere. Check that the cover comes off. For a cat who sleeps curled up in a ball, a striped double-cushion sofa for dogs and cats with high sides will be better.

  • Measure your cat stretched out and add the armrests — this model is one size (66x37x33cm)
  • Check the seat is firm – a cat sofa that sags gets abandoned
  • Put it up high or against a wall, never in the middle of the floor
  • Wash the cover regularly: hand cleaning recommended
  • Wait two to three weeks before the first wash – it needs to smell of him
  • Pop in an item of your clothing for the first few days

Where to put it so he takes to it

Against a wall, up high if possible, with a view of the room and away from foot traffic: that's the combination that works. A bed in the middle of the living room won't get used, however perfect it is.

If he still prefers your sofa, put his right next to it rather than at the other end of the room — you shift a habit by a few centimetres, not several metres. And for a cat who sleeps tightly curled up, a kitten cave bed will suit better.

One often-decisive factor people forget: warmth. A cat picks the warmest spot in the room first. Placed near a radiator or in an afternoon patch of sun, the same bed is adopted in two days; three metres away, it stays empty all winter.

FAQ

Is it suitable for an indoor cat?

That's actually its main use: an indoor cat spends most of the day alone, and boredom soon turns into scratched furniture or night-time wake-ups.

What are the exact dimensions?

One size (66x37x33cm). That's the measurement to check against your pet's build: with this kind of accessory, any mismatch shows straight away in use.

What if I have several cats?

Plan one per cat for anything to do with resting, eating and toileting. Forced sharing is the number one cause of tension in a multi-cat home.

What is it made of?

Polyester + polyester fibre filling. This composition is what determines the care: see the specifications for the right way to wash it.
