Dog blaster dryer: dry a dense undercoat in minutes

On a dog with a dense undercoat, a towel only dries the surface: the damp stays at the roots for hours and festers, which leads to hot spots and dermatitis. A hairdryer, on the other hand, gets too hot and burns the skin.

A blaster works with air power, not heat. It dries in a few minutes and removes an impressive amount of dead undercoat along the way. That's the whole point of our grooming blaster dryers.

Power, noise and nozzles: what matters in use

This one is made of reinforced plastic with metal components. Cylindrical with top handle, 30.5 x 16.5 x 25 cm — power decides the drying time, but noise level decides whether your dog accepts it. Adjustable speed lets you start very low. Check the hose length too: a long one saves moving the unit around. Round it off with a Dog Grooming Kit with Vacuum for the loosened undercoat.

  • Start on the lowest speed and well away from the dog — it's the noise that frightens them
  • Dry against the coat, section by section, never sweeping over the whole body
  • Avoid the head and ears, or do those areas by hand
  • Check the hose length — this model measures 30.5 x 16.5 x 25 cm
  • Brush while you dry — a dog blaster loosens a huge amount of dead undercoat
  • Clean the filter regularly: dust regularly. Do not immerse; clean the outside dry

Drying without burning or terrifying your dog

The first session is done with the dryer switched on at a distance, without blowing on the dog, just to get used to the noise. Then you move closer, on minimum speed, starting with the hindquarters — never the head.

Never point the airflow at the ears or eyes, and don't use the heat setting at full power on thin skin. Run a brush through while drying: that's when the undercoat comes out most easily.

An unexpected bonus: in a few minutes a blaster removes more undercoat than an hour of brushing, even outside moulting season. Plenty of owners buy one for drying and end up using it mostly for this — and that's the real reason it's worth the money.

FAQ

How often should I brush my pet?

Two to three times a week for a short coat, every day during moulting or for a long coat. Regular brushing prevents knots, which can't be untangled without cutting.

What are the exact dimensions?

30.5 x 16.5 x 25 cm. Check this measurement against your pet's size: with this kind of accessory, any mismatch shows the moment you use it.

Does it pull on the skin?

Not if you work in small sections, in the direction of the fur, holding the base of the tuft. The pain almost always comes from pulling from the tip.

What is it made of?

Reinforced plastic with metal components. This material determines how to care for it: see the specifications for the right way to wash it.
