They pester you less — a busy dog demands less attention while you work

They keep busy alone, without wrecking the rest — a toy that holds up replaces the chair leg and the shoes

Boredom turns into effort — they have to search, push, flip: that's what tires a dog out, not running

Description

Dog ball launcher made of plastic launcher, soft plush balls. It doubles the distance with the same throw and lets you scoop the ball up in the cup instead of by hand. Fifteen to twenty throws is plenty, as landings put a lot of strain on the shoulders.

Dog ball launcher: throw far without wrecking your shoulder

A dog who loves fetch could keep going all afternoon; your arm gives out after twenty throws. A launcher easily doubles the distance with the same movement, and above all it saves you picking up a slobbery ball every single time.

It's the hygiene side that wins people over fastest: you scoop the ball straight up in the cup. What's left is checking which balls it takes, and that's the first thing to sort by in our ball launchers.

Length, ball pick-up and compatibility: what matters

This one is made of plastic launcher, soft plush balls. Compact pistol with a manual firing mechanism, launcher: 13 × 4 × 9 cm / Ball: 3 cm diameter — length sets the distance, but also how awkward it is to take on walks: beyond seventy centimetres, it ends up staying at home. Check which ball size it takes, as not every launcher fits standard balls. Keep spare balls to hand; the foam ball blaster for dogs and cats stands up better to powerful jaws.

Check which ball size it takes, as not every launcher fits shop-bought balls
Pick the length to suit your outings — this model: launcher: 13 × 4 × 9 cm / Ball: 3 cm diameter
Pick the ball up with the cup rather than by hand – that's half the point
Throw low and flat rather than in a high arc: a dog ball launcher that sends it high makes your dog jump
Stick to fifteen or twenty throws, as repetition wears the joints
Clean the cup: clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth

How many throws, and what to avoid

Fetch is a tougher workout than it looks: braking, turning and landing put heavy strain on the shoulders and hindquarters. Fifteen to twenty throws is plenty, and it's better to throw low and flat than in a high arc to avoid landings on the front legs.

Don't do it with a growing puppy or straight after a meal — the risk of bloat in large breeds is real. To keep a dog busy without the impact, a tough dog toy for chewing is a better option.

An unexpected use: the launcher lets a dog run without you having to run yourself, which makes it invaluable for an older or injured owner. But that's also what tempts you to overdo it — the dog will never stop on his own, so it's up to you to count.

FAQ

How do I clean it?

Warm soapy water and thorough drying for rubber and plastic; machine wash at 30 °C in a laundry bag for plush, as long as the seams are intact.

What are the exact dimensions?

Launcher: 13 × 4 × 9 cm / Ball: 3 cm diameter. This is the measurement to check against your pet's build: with this kind of accessory, any mismatch shows straight away in use.

Will it stand up to a dog that chews?

No toy is indestructible. Dense rubber models last much longer than plush, but a determined chewer will get the better of them eventually: keep an eye on its condition and replace it before pieces come off.

What is it made of?

Plastic launcher, soft plush balls. It's this material mix that sets the care routine: check the specifications for the right way to wash it.
